CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga – Dengue cases in
this city have increased by 79 percent from January-September
this year with 205 compared to 114 in the same period last
year.
The City Health Office
noted more than half of the cases were recorded in the months of July, August
and September.
The CHO had alerted
residents to launch intensified prevention against rain-borne diseases as typhoid
fever cases also spiked to 305 from 243, last year.
But cases of flu dropped
by 29% for the period, the CHO reported.
With this, barangays
through the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERT) are directed to
spearhead massive community action and monitoring.
Health
should always be a top concern now that we gear to the new normal, the CHO
stated. (LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
