Truck, trike collide in Cagayan; 3 killed

TUGUEGARAO CITY -- Three persons were killed when their kolong-kolong or improvised tricycle rammed into a trailer along the national road in Barangay Pata, Claveria, Cagayan, on Tuesday night, police said.
Killed were Fernando Carniyan, 46, kolong-kolong driver, and his six-year-old daughter, Angela, and five-year-old stepson, Angel Juan.
Critical was Carniyan's live-in partner, Roselyn Juan, 41.
Maj. Krismar Angelo Casilana, Claveria police chief, said the family was on their way home after attending a relative's family dinner.
The kolong-kolong was hit by the truck driven by Julius Amanonce, 22, of Zitanga, Ballesteros, Cagayan.
The Carniyans were thrown off the tricycle, killing Fernando and Angela instantly.
Angel Juan was declared dead at the hospital.
Amanonce, who was on his way to La Union to haul cement bags, faces multiple homicide charges before the prosecutor's office.
