Judge issues TRO vs meet of Beneco posts claimants

   BAGUIO CITY – Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Maria Ligaya Itliong-Rivera issued a 72-hour temporary restraining order (TRO) on July 1 stopping the holding of an “annual regular general assembly meeting (ARGAM) here on July 2, 2022 here by a former Assistant Secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office and her minions who claimed to be officials of the Benguet Electric Cooperative.
    “Upon consideration of the allegations contained in the present motion together with the allegations in the verified complaint in support of the prayer for the issuance of a Temporary Restraining Order and it appearing that before the matter could be heard on notice, the plaintiffs would suffer grave and irreparable injury, the court hereby orders defendants Atty. Ana Maria Paz B. Rafael, with office address at Baguio Tourist Cabin, No. 5, Sto. Tomas Road, Purok 1, Dontogan, Green Valley, Baguio City, Atty. Gauttier Dupaya  with office address at No. 57 NIA Road, Government Center, Diliman, Quezon City, Rocky M. Aliping, Luke B. Gomeyac, James B. Aclopen and Enrique Moresto with office address at Baguio Tourist Cabin, No. 5, Sto. Tomas Road, Purok 1, Dontogan, Green Valley, Baguio City, to cease and desist for a period of 72 hours only from conducting the Annual Regular General Assembly Meeting (ARGAM) on July 02, 2022 at Athletic Bowl, Baguio City. 
Itliong set the raffle of the case on July 4 at 3 p.m.
    Civil case 9538-R was filed against respondents by Benguet Electric Cooperative board of directors lawyer Esteban Somngi,Jeffered Acop, Josephine Tuling, Robert Valentin Jr., Jonathan Obar, Mike Maspil and Peter Busaing.
    Plaintiffs included Beneco member consumers represented by Mia Magdalena F. Longid.
