Transgender woman found dead in Ilagan; kin push investigation

ILAGAN, Isabela -- The family of a murdered 24-year-old transgender has been seeking an immediate investigation into her death.
    Vergel  Tumicad, 24, was found dead in a cornfield in Barangay Naguilian Baculod Sur in this city on June 10.
    Capt. Harold Agdamag, Ilagan police chief investigator, identified the fatality as Tumicad, a resident of Alinguigan 2nd in this city.
     Tumicad went to Naguilian Sur, Baculod, to meet with friends on the night of June 9, police reports said.
    The Isabela Provincial Forensic Unit of the Scene of the Crime Operatives found "mortal wounds," which were apparently inflicted by a hard object on his head and body, which caused his death.
    Police have yet to know the motive of the killing.
