SALLAPADAN, Abra -- Residents and netizens admired the Facebook post of the Sallapadan local government unit featuring newly acquired equipment where no politicians or officials were praised.
In the said post, the LGU showed a picture of a new ambulance for the town.
The said ambulance has no face or name of any politicians or officials painted on it.
Instead, what is written on the body of the vehicle is “Nanlapu si buwis umilin Sal-lapadan” or this came from the taxes of the people. “May this quote on our ambulance remind us, your leaders, of the value of your trust and serve as a reminder of your hard work just to contribute to this effort,” said Sallapadan Municipal Mayor Fernando Alagriz Semanero Jr. in his message.
One of the netizens from Abra commended the move of the LGU by stating that what their action is an inspiring deed to emulate. The netizen added that this is in contrary to the traditional politicians who proudly paint their names in bold letters much to the disappointment of the taxpayers.
