BAGUIO CITY -- The city government is preparing to launch the online payment system using Baguio in my Pocket (BIMP) application covering payments for real property tax, business tax and other fees including arrival fees at the city market on Nov. 14.
BIMP is a collection of applications that aims to promote an e-government ecosystem and provide an all-in-one digital platform to provide key services to the people.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong said the BIMP platform provider Information Technology Business Solutions (ITBS) Corporation assured readiness to launch the online system covering said transactions.
The
company is also working out the inclusion of payments of fines for traffic violations
and of utility bills in coordination with the Baguio City Police Office, the
Baguio Water District and the Benguet Electric Cooperative Inc. later.
The
system will have Land Bank of the Philippines as service provider for the city
government.
The
mayor said they are also waiting for the approval of an ordinance by the city
council to institutionalize the system.
