New Ilocos PNP chief takes over

CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – Brig. Gen. John Chua on
Monday, Oct. 24, formally assumed as new Ilocos region police chief.
Chua replaced Brig. Gen. Belly Tamayo who was designated as deputy chief of the Directorate for Intelligence.
Philippine National Police chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. led turnover ceremony in this camp.
Chua is a member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1992 and was deputy regional director for administration of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera before he was chosen to head PRO-1.
He urged police in the region to implement the PNP’s programs and live up to their duties as protectors of the civilian population.
Azurin said he has great confidence in Chua’s ability to lead the Police Regional Office-1 due to his great accomplishments and dedication to work.
