Plotting of BGHMC dev’t area pushed; bizmen still use sites at Kennon Road

BAGUIO CITY -- City officials here urged the Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources–Cordillera Administrative Region to set exact plotting of the application of the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) on its reservation area included in its master site development plan occupied by business owners along Kennon road.
Under resolution 049, series of 2023, the city council told the City Assessor’s Office to provide real time information of DENR-CAR’s plotting for more visual orientation of the area, structures affected and submit these to the city council.
    Earlier considered by the council was a recent letter of Dr. Ricardo B. Runez, Jr., Medical Center Chief II, Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, submitting the management’s position document relative to a letter of Vilma P. Javier et al, occupants/business owners along Kennon road apparently covered by the BGHMC reservation area, requesting assistance on issuance of business permits and determination of whether the site they were occupying were under the reservation area.
    The committee on market, trade, commerce and agriculture, in its 2nd  indorsement dated Jan. 5, 2023 recommended to furnish and forward the said letter to the DENR-CAR regional director for them to provide exact plotting of the application submitted by BGHMC and for the City Assessor’s Office to provide DENR-CAR’s plotting for more visual orientation of the subject area and those structures affected and for the said mentioned offices to submit their requested plotting to the body for its action. -- Dexter A.
