Ilocos Norte logs twelve rabies deaths

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte -- Twelve people died of rabies in this province since March.
Cathy Badua, provincial health office nurse and infectious diseases coordinator, said the latest fatality was a 70-year-old man, a resident of Barangay 8 San Antonio in Sarrat town.
Badua said the victim was bitten by a dog in June, but did not get anti-rabies vaccine until two weeks ago.
She said the other fatalities are from Pinili, Nueva Era, Banna, Sarrat, Paoay, Badoc and Laoag City.
