10 held in Sadanga checkpoint with P2 million marijuana

SADANGA, Mountain Province -- Ten suspected drug couriers were arrested for allegedly attempting to sneak out marijuana with an estimated value of P2 million here last week.
    The suspects were in a Toyota Hi-Ace van when they were apprehended at a checkpoint in Barangay Poblacion in Sadanga town at around 7 p.m. on Oct., according to Brig. Gen. David Peredo, Cordillera police director.
    Peredo identified the suspects as Wendel Alvarado, 20; Jon Paulo Bolivar, 29; Jaycee Cayanan, 21; Erika Javiero, 24; Cherry Ann Lomibao, 24; Jade del Mundo,19; Joseph Padayao Jr., 29; Paulo Segismundo, 32; Bien Velasquez, 22, and Christopher Zabala, 23.
    Police said that during inspection, they found dried marijuana bricks and tubes in the suspects’ bags.
