Fil-Am golf tilt set Nov 22 to Dec 10

BAGUIO CITY — The 73rd edition of the Januarius Fil-Am invitational golf tournament is set Nov. 22 to Dec, 10 at the Baguio Country Club (BCC) here.
    BCC general manager and Fil-Am invitational golf tournament co-chairman Anthony de Leon bared this saying this year’s staging of the longest running amateur golf tournament in the Asia Pacific region will be filled with fun and surprises following the scrapping of all the community quarantine restrictions previously imposed to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
    From Nov. 22 to half day of Nov. 24, participating golfers will have  practice rounds while team captains will hold their traditional meeting at the Camp John Hay Golf Club.
    The tee off for the seniors division and regular flights F and G will be 4 p.m. Nov. 24, followed by opening cocktails at 6 p.m. at Camp John Hay, a stone’s throw away.
    The tournament proper will start on Nov. 25, while traditional welcome party will be Nov. 26, at 6 p.m. at CJH.
    The annual Theme Night for the first week of the tournament is Nov. 28, at 6 p.m. also at CJH.
    The Awards Night for the seniors division and flights F and G is Nov. 30, at BCC.
    De Leon said Dec. 1 will be rest day for participating golfers in preparation for the opening games for regular division.
    On Dec. 2 to half day of Dec. 4, golfers of the regular division flights CH, A, B, C, D and E will have practice rounds in both courses while the ceremonial tee off for the regular division will be held at 4 p.m. of Dec. 4 followed by cocktails 6 p.m. same day.
    The tournament proper for regular division will fire off Dec. 5, while welcome party for the regulars is Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. CJH.
    The Theme Night for the regular division participants will be held Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. BCC.
Awards Night for regular division is Dec. 10, at 6 p.m. still at CJH.
