NBI agent commits suicide by hanging

STA. BARBARA, Pangasinan — An agent of the National Bureau of Investigation committed suicide by hanging himself in the residence of a close friend here in Poblacion Norte.

SPO2 Rodrigo de Vera, desk officer of Sta Barbara police, said the victim was identified as Antonio del Prado, resident of Calasiao.

The body was found hanging in a room at about 6 a.m. Monday.

Found near the body were his belongings, a cellular phone, wallet containing cash, driver’s license and NBI identification car.

Relatives of the victim said he could have ended his life due to family's financial problems.

In his text message, he asked forgiveness from his children and other members of his family for not being a good provider.

He had also informed some of his friends about his financial problem.
