Rep urges relief of cops, military men in illegal logging in Kalinga

TABUK CITY, Kalinga– Kalinga Rep. Manuel Agyao and environmental groups urged full investigation on alleged illegal logging operation in the province.
At least 268 pieces of narra flitches totaling 3,000 board feet recently confiscated in Calanan, Tabuk City civilian armed auxiliaries, which is under the Philippine Army.
Agyao urged the relief of policemen and military officials involved in illegal logging.
Agyao, who confirmed the presence of illegal logging in the province, said some Department of Environment and Natural Resources personnel “are colluding with illegal loggers and must be investigated.”
A well-connected person is reportedly behind the illegal logging syndicate in the province.
