Implementation of the proposed K to 12 reform
and the many changes in the educational framework of the country this coming
school-year is being met by parents and concerned sectors with apprehension.
But
according to legislators like Sen. Edgardo J. Angara who himself was in the
academe before he joined politics, these should not be the case as the new
curriculum would provide a world-class education and abundant job opportunities
for graduates.
Angara,
chairman of the Senate Committee on Education, Arts and Culture, Committee on
Science and Technology, said the proposed K to 12 reform is not only timely,
but long overdue.
“We
must not allow these worrisome trends to continue if we hope to provide good
jobs and income to our people,” said Angara.
He said the call for educational reforms was sounded off three decades
ago, back when he chaired the Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM)
which recommended the “trifocalization” of the system into the Department of
Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Technical
Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).” The lawmaker said that the country cannot afford to delay
the implementation of K to 12 any further.
The
National Statistical Coordinating Board (NSCB) has warned that over the past
decade, the number of college students who graduate each year has not increased
fast enough to meet the growing needs of our population.
The
quality of graduates as a result of the new curriculum would speak for itself.

Blahblahblahbalabala, lawmakers here, there, reforms here and there. It is not the Educational reforms that is needed in this Camote republik but JOBS, JOBS, provide JOBS! especially for the newly graduates! Why in this planet earth you can see pinays and pinoys scattered everywhere even in Afghanistan taking every kind of jobs they could just to support their respective family back home!
