TABUK
CITY, Kalinga, May 14(PIA)- – The Sangguniang Panlalawigan in this province has
recently authorized the executive department to utilize the Performance
Challenge Fund (PFC) of P7 million received by the province recently.
Identified
project to be funded is the concreting of the provincial road along the Bulanao
to Balong, Tabuk City converting the two-lane road into a four-lane street.
Said
project is foreseen to help unclog the traffic along the busy street of the
provincial road in Bulanao and Dagupan.
Through
a motion made by Board Member Eduardo Sarol, it was resolved that Kalinga
Governor Jocel Baac being the province’s representative is authorized to enter
into a memorandum of agreement with the Interior and Local Government
Cordillera Administrative Region relative to the implementation of the PCF for
the concreting of said street.
The
PCF is a subsidy given to the local government units that passed the assessment
on good housekeeping and conferred the Seal of Good Housekeeping (SGH) giving
priority to the less able LGUs belonging to the 4th and 6th class category.
This aims to encourage the convergence of local development projects towards
the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), tourism, and
economic development. (GGD, PIA-CAR, Kalinga)
