Security measures set for Cordillera classes

TRINIDAD, Benguet -- The Cordillera regional law enforcement coordinating
committee is all set for the opening of classes this June.
"We
are ready for “BalikEskuela,” said Chief Supt. Benjamin B. Magalong chairman of
RLECC and regional police director of
Cordillera.
He
said they have coordinated with the
Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the
various heads of the universities and schools and local government units for
well managed school opening.
More
uniformed police personnel will be stationed and on foot patrol in the
university belt to prevent bad elements from victimizing students especially
first timer students enrolling in the big universities in Baguio City and La
Trinidad, Benguet, he said.
“The
security of students, parents and public
safety is always our concern that
is why there is a concerted effort when thousands of student, pupils and
teachers go back to school,” Magalong
said.
School
principals are reportedly closely coordinating with police on security measures to.
He
said he has given
similar instructions to all provincial directors in the province to
implement “BalikEskuela” in their own respective area.
