Shabu tiange raided; colorum driver nabbed

BAGUIO
CITY -- A shabu “tiangge” was raided recently by anti-drug agents, following
the arrest of its operator in a buy-bust operation, here at Barangay Asin,
where 23 sachets of shabu worth P40,000, paraphernalia for packaging and use of
shabu and records of drug transactions were seized.
The
alleged operator, a 39-year old native of Sagada, Mountain Province, who also
works as a “colorum” van driver, reportedly used pantiliners and sanitary napkins
as covert carriers of sachets of shabu.
He
tested positive for shabu use, said a Philippine Drug Enforcement
Agency-Cordillera report.
Warren
Byrd I. Canisi, married, of 136 Purok 7, Asin, was busted by operatives of the
PDEA-Cordillera around 5:30 p.m. May 5,
several meters away from the apartment unit he occupies.
The
PDEA report said the suspect sold a sachet of shabu, placed in a blue envelope,
concealed in a pantiliner, forP2,000 who acted as buyer.
In
a move to extricate himself, Canisi reportedly voluntarily offered to give up
other shabu in his apartment room.
Canisi
was charged May 7 before the Office of the City Prosecutor for illegal drugs.
