Ilocos Sur bocap nabbed for possession of hot logs

SINAIT, Ilocos Sur -- The barangay captain of Cabangtalan here was arrested Tuesday for possession of some P500,000 worth of illegally cut logs.

Chief Supt. Franklin Bucayu, Region 1 police director, said criminal charges would be filed against ArnulfoIneda, 45.

Senior Supt. Noel Amoyen, Ilocos Sur police director, said the hot logs – 160 pieces mahogany, 30 pieces molave and 30 pieces gemilina – were found at Ineda’s residence by Ilocos Sur policemen.

Ineda claimed some of the logs would be used for the construction of a barangay hall.

Amoyen said the confiscation of the hot logs was made through a tip from the police’s barangay information network.
