CAMP BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – An e-Learning project designed to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the Philippine National Police’s Integrated Transformation Program (Patrol Plan 2030 and CODE-P) was recently launched here and set to be implemented by the PNP nationwide.
Chief Supt. Benjamin B. Magalong, regional police director bared this saying policemen in the Cordillera region will now be able to cope with fast changing information and communication technology and render genuine service in line with the ‘Serbisyong Makatotohanan’ being advocated by Philippine National Police Director General Alan La Madrid Purisima.
Magalong said the e-learning project is one of the innovations and best practices of the Cordillera police which now being replicated in the whole police organization.
Initially, 22 policemen composed of police commissioned officers, non-commissioned officers and non-uniformed personnel were the first batch to take the initial examination for the e-learning project before it will be expanded to other police officials.
“Through e-Learning, the concepts and fundamentals of Patrol Plan 2030 can be cascaded down to the lowest ranking personnel to enhance comprehension and better understanding of his role in Patrol Plan 2030 and the strategic focus of PNP chief Purisima named CODE–P,” Magalong said.
Students of the University of the Cordilleras (UC) under supervision of Nathaniel Vincent Lubrica, and engineer and project coordinator, developed the system of the e-Learning Project and the Geographical Information System-Based Crime Analysis (GIS-BCA) which is now in full implementation in Baguio City, La Trinidad and other major municipalities in the region.
Magalong said the Patrol Plan 2030/CODE-P e-learning was divided into six modules. According to him, after each module, the personnel will be required to take an examination to test their level of comprehension before they will advance to the succeeding modules to allow them to internalize the lessons within each of the prescribed modules.
The Center for Police Strategy Management in Camp Crame is very much interested to adopt the project for implementation to the different Police offices nationwide, Magalong added.
