TABUK CITY, Kalinga-– Business establishments were told to stop selling liquor to minors in the wake of reports about students hanging-out late at night in the city.

Police making routine night patrols reported the increasing number of high school students still roaming the streets, most of them smelling of liquor.

Tabuk City Chief of Police Supt. Reynaldo Pasiwen told business establishments to stop offering liquor to these students, reminding the risks these minors face at night.

He called on parents and guardians to check on the activities and routines of their children and boarders as a move to protect them from the ill effects of liquor.

This problem with the young, if left unattended, may result to more serious ills in the community, aside from these youths losing their studies, he said.

The police urged community cooperation in addressing such problem.--PIA
