BONTOC, Mountain Province -- The provincial Public Works and Highways office was rated first on “road condition” for 2012 by the Bureau of Maintenance inspectorate, DPWH-Central Office.
The rating was based from the result of the second semester “road condition rating “conducted by the BOM on carriageways, roads and bridges along the province’s national roads.
The inspection was to evaluate national road network’s compliance to DPWH maintenance standards.
The rating resulted from the concerted effort of the roadside and carriageway workers who were then led by engineers Manuel Likigan and Domingo Pumecha during the 3rd quarter of 2012 and engineers Cyril Valencerina and Alfredo Fiasitao during the last quarter.
Meanwhile, OIC- district engineer Wilbur Likigan said he was supportive to maintenance activities and looking forward that such rating be maintained.
“This is in addition to patching potholes, correcting drainage problems and maintaining carriageways.
The maintenance section is expected to aid in solving other road problems,” Likigan said.
