Power shutdown March 19 in northern Luzon provinces

The National
Grid Corporation of the Philippines served notice of scheduled shutdown of some
of its transmission facilities on March 19 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Benguet,
Baguio City, Mountain Province, Kalinga, Ilocos Sur and Quirino, an NGCP
advisory said.
Power in parts of Benguet Electric Cooperative’s coverage will be shut
down which include Baguio City
(Magsaysay Avenue, Happy Homes-Old Lucban, M. Roxas, South Sanitary Camp,
Trancoville, Quisumbing, Lower Malvar, Tabora, CamdasSubd., Quirino Hill,
Dizon Subd., Pinget, Dreamland Subd., Slaughter Compound, P. Zamora St.,
Kayang-Hilltop, BPI Cpd., Bokawkan Rd., P. Burgos, Gomez St., Camp Allen,
Abanao Street, Kayang, Kagitingan, Yandoc St., City Hall, AZCKO Brgy, Rizal
Monument Brgy, Burnham-Legarda, Palma-Urbano, Queen of Peace, City Camp, Rock
Quarry, Dr. Carino St., Q.M., Kisad Rd., Legarda Rd., General Lim St., Del
Pilar St., BGH Compound, UP Baguio Drive, Gov. Pack Road, PHIL-AM Cpd.,
Balsigan, Campo Sioco, Imelda Marcos, Sto. Rosario, Old Site SLU-SVP, parts of
Bakakeng, Marcos Highway, Kitma, Crystal Cave, Balacbac, Dontogan, Irisan, San
Roque, San Luis, Asin, Lourdes Subdivision, Mirador Hill, Dominican Hill, Hamada
Subdivision, Tam-awan-Longlong Road, Tacay Road, Quezon Hill, Pinsao, Richwood
Subd., Ferguson Road, GuisadSurong, Fairview, parts of Cresencia Village,
Campo Filipino, Avelino St., Sepic Road. and parts of Benguet (Sablan, Tuba,
Taloy Sur/Norte, San Pascual and La Trinidad except Beckel.
Also on March 19 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., power in entire Mountain
Province and nearby provinces will be shut down.
Affected areas include Tinglayan, Kalinga; Cervantes and Quirino, Ilocos
Sur and parts of Balili, Mankayan, Benguet
Reason: annual preventive maintenance of 75MVA power transformer
and equipment at La Trinidad substation; simultaneous with line maintenance
along La Trinidad – Mountain Province Electric Coop. and La Trinidad - Calot
69kV lines
Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion.
NGCP customers and the general public are advised to take the necessary
preparations and precautions for this scheduled interruption.
