6 hurt by lightning inPangasinan

VILLASIS, Pangasinan – Six persons in two barangays in Pangasinan were injured when lightning struck during heavy rains on Tuesday. 

Arnel Mortera, 36; Ronnie Marcos, 33; Rolando Sadang and his twin brother Reynaldo, 25; and Bryan Amador, 17, who were in a nipa hut in a rice field in Barangay Capulaan, suffered burns in different parts of the body, Superintendent Ferdinand de Asis, chief of the Provincial Police Community Relations Office, said in a report. 

Roy Manzano, 34, a resident of Barangay San Marcos in  Sto. Tomas town, was standing under an acacia tree in front of the St. Anthony Abbot church in Poblacion Zone 1, where he took cover from the rain, when he was struck by lightning.

Marcos remains confined at the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City and Amador at Dr. Chan Hospital in Rosales town.
