Sagada school PTA ‘Best in Mt Province’

BONTOC, Mountain
Province – The Ankileng Elementary School Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) in
the tourist town of Sagada was adjudged in this capital town winner in the
2015 Search for Best PTA in the province.
Second
was Kayan Elementary School PTA in Tadian and third was Supang Elementary
School PTA in Sabangan.
Gov.
Bonifacio Lacwasan, Jr., OIC Schools Division Superintendent Gloria Buya-ao,
OIC Assistant Supt. Benilda Daytaca, and provincial PTA Federation president
Manuel Immatong awarded last week certificates of recognition and trophies
to winners.
A
cash prize of P20, 000 was also awarded to AES PTA officers, P15, 000 and P10,
000 to Kayan ES and Supang ES PTA officers respectively.
Rosendo
Cacap of the Division Office said there were seven PTA entries in
the 2015 search.
The
others were PTAs of Gonogon Elementary School in Bontoc, the Otucan-Bila
National High Schoo in Bauko I district, Pangao ES in Bauko II district
and Besao National High School. They also received certificate
of participation, and cash incentive of P5, 000.00 to each of the school
PTA officers.
The
Office of the Governor provided prizes for this search which aims to give
recognition for the achievements of the PTA that contributed to the goals of
the DepEd.
Criteria
in judging for the best PTA included: stability and functionality of the
association (40%) which covered organization, accreditation, meetings,
policies, action plan, constitution and by-laws; programs/projects/activities
undertaken (40%) like participation of the association in school-related
programs and activities, and linkages
and networking (20%) with local, regional/national, international (recognized
organization, and funding sources.
