BACARRA, Ilcos Norte -- A children's party and gift-giving highlighted opening of fifth 3-generational (3G) playground-cum-fitness-park here for a "livable" province through the creation of public recreational spaces.
As part of Gov. Imee R. Marcos' projects, parks in Laoag City, Dingras, Badoc, and Batac City had opened last month.
Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Matthew Marcos Manotoc, who headed the project, urged Ilocano youth to start playing sports and become active.
Containing both children's play equipment and outdoor exercise facilities, the parks also cater to old Ilocanos so they can pursue more active lifestyles.
"Three generations together, na habang naglalaro ang bagets, mag-exercise na ang yayang bakets," Marcos said.

The parks also aim to strengthen community relations among Ilocanos.
