Man mauled, killed in La Trinidad 
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A young man was killed after he was mauled here Tuesday around 10 p.m. by still unidentified men.
A police report said the incident happened at swamp area in Barangay Puguis wherein the victim was identified as Denver Munar Belen, 18, unemployed, of Western Buyagan.
Police got a phone call from Benguet General Hospital around 10:45 p.m. saying a mauling victim was brought there.
Investigation disclosed the victim was brought at around 10:22 p.m. by two females and four male persons in a Toyota FX with plate No. UJM 457 to the BeGH where he was declared dead at around 12:15 a.m. by Dr. Lizette Refuerzo who said cause of death was neurogenic shock. Police are still trying to identify the victim’s maulers.

2 teens drown in Agno River
SAN CARLOS CITY, Pangasinan – Two teenage girls drowned in Agno River in this city on Monday.
Mary Jane Tamayo, 15, and Michelle Sudio, 13, Grade 8 students of the Salinap High School, were declared dead on arrival at the Virgen Milagrosa Hospital.
Investigation showed the victims, who went swimming with their friends, went to a deeper part of the river. – Eva Visperas

Widower arrestedfor attempted murder
BAGUIO CITY – A 63-year-old widower was arrested here Tuesday for trying to kill his neighbor around 2:45 p.m. at No. 81 Purok Magsaysay, Loakan Proper.
The victim named as Michael Villaduz Dumagcao, 40, driver and resident of said house filed complaint for attempted murder against his neighbor Perfector Aniban Mabalot of No. 235 Purok Magsaysay, Loakan Proper.
Police investigation disclosed while the victim was resting inside his bedroom, the suspect entered in their house and without any words attacked and swung using kitchen knife against the victim who defended himself using a blanket. He was not hurt until a relative of the suspect came and pacified Mabalot. Dumagcao sought police assistance which resulted in the arrest of the suspect.

Man found dead under uprooted pine tree
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A farmer was found dead near the Busol Watershed here by his son, identified as Jordan A. Daniwis , 22 an overseas foreign worker around 10 a.m. Monday.
A police report said Jordan found his father Esculy Ponciano Daniwis, 41, barangay volunteer in maintaining nursery and resident of AU-261 Upper Ambiong, La Trinidad.
Investigation disclosed around 6:30 a.m. of March 26, the victim took his chain saw and informed Jordan Daniwis that he will go to the mountain and will be back before 9 a.m. of same date. However, the victim did not return which prompted Jordan to look for his father. While at the mountain, he met a certain Claro Pitas who accompanied him and they saw the lifeless body of the victim under the roots of the uprooted pine tree with the chain saw beside him. The victim was brought at their residence. At press time, it was not known if the victim’s wife was amenable for an autopsy.

Dolores, Abra bocap arrested for rape
DOLORES, Abra – Police arrested Lub-luba barangay chairman Leonardo Trinidad Advincula, 45 here Monday for rape. This, after
Corpuz B. Alzate, presiding judge of RTC, Branch 2, Bangued issued warrant for his arrest with no bail recommended.

4 suspects nabbed for illegal drugs
BAGUIO CITY – Police recently arrested four suspects here for illegal drugs.  
Danilo Panis Suguitan, 47, of Pinsao Proper, and Raul Fontanilla Dacpano, 28, of Cabinet Hill, were arrested night of March 18 fronting Caltex Station, Upper Session Road, DPS Compound for having in his possession 30 pieces of plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a cell phone phone, and  P500 buy-bust money.
The following day, another three drug dealers were arrested inside Molly’s Inn, Kayang St. identified as Matty Andrada Llanes, 33; Roel Aberin Salude, 40; andAbegail Abenes Calawagan, 19. 
Confiscated from their possession were 16 pieces of plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and marijuana leaves with a total Dangerous Drug Board Value of P12,075 and buy-bust money.

2 men arrested in Bulacan drug stings
SAN DEL MONTE CITY, Bulacan -- Renato Tuliao, 45, a resident of Barangay Sapang Palay here and Reneir Allan Cruz, 31, of Tiaong in Baliwag were arrested in stings. They reportedly yielded a total of 17 sachets of shabu with an estimated value of over P100,000.

Farmer stabs young man in graduation party
BANGUED, Abra – Police launched a manhunt against a farmer for stabbing a young man during a graduation party here Tuesday around 11 p.m. in Cosili East.
Following this, police received a phone call saying a victim of stabbing was rushed to Seares Memorial Hospital here who was later identified as Christian Jay Tagura Domingo, 19, of Wayya, Velasco, Tayum while  the suspect was named as Jerwin Cabadsan, 25, of Sitio Barbarit, Cosili East.
Investigation disclosed the victim and his friend, Concepcion Purisima, 21, attended graduation party  of Mary Joy Cabadsan (girlfriend of the victim) in Cosili East and had drinking session with other visitors.
After consuming several bottles of liquor, the victim asked permission from the mother of Cabadsan to go home when the suspect went near the victim and asked what went wrong and why he was leaving.  The victim ignored the suspect and went near his motorcycle but the suspect ran towards him holding a knife and stabbed the victim once.
Domingo was stabbed on his chest and rushed in critical condition to SMH for medical treatment. The suspect fled to unknown direction after the incident.

3 men enter girlie bar; charged with theft, estafa  
BAGUIO CITY – Three men are now in  hot water for going inside a girlie bar here Tuesday night around 11 p.m., not paying their bill, and stealing personal items of employees.
Police said the incident happened inside Three Angels Girly Bar here along Marcos Highway, Bakakeng Central with suspects named as Arnel A. Lapastura, 18; Jospeh Lapastura and Robert P. Monar, all residing at here Barangay Bakakeng, Crystal Cave area and natives of Gen Tinio, Nueva Ecija. 
Investigation disclosed the trio went to the establishment and consumed drinks. Later. Arnel went inside the room of female entertainers and was then caught taking personal belongings. He was subdued by Juniel Asanion, 24, bouncer. When said suspect was frisked, he yielded a Cherry Mobile cell phone, portable video DVD Coby and Tribal T-shirt worth P900.. Said recovered items were owned by complainant, a dancer who said her pair of earrings worth P2,000 was also missing. The three suspects who were not able to pay their P920 bill were arrested and charged for theft and estafa.

Laborer jailed for attempted rape 
BANAUE, Ifugao – A laborer was arrested here Tuesday for attempted rape at Tam-an. The suspect was named as Nathaniel A. Bogwana 26, of Talboc, Mayoyao town.
This after arrest warrant was issued against him by Ester L. Piscoso-Flor, presiding judge, RTC, Banaue who set bail of P120,000 for his temporary liberty.

Laborer, technician
nabbed for shabu 
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Two persons were nabbed in a buy-bust operation here Tuesday around 7 p.m. at Poblacion. Arrested were Lyndon Renz Chalano Jacinto, 21, labourer and Emil Rolloda Bernal, 32, technician and drug surrenderee.
Seized from them were shabu, P720 buy-bust money and two cell phones. Barangay kagawad Manuel Amoy and media practitioner Jorton Campana witness the inventory of seized items.

Man charged for malicious mischief, threats in Tuba
TUBA, Benguet – A man was charged for malicious mischief and threats for damaging a vehicle even as the owner’s father in law was watching.  
Police said the incident happened Monday around 9:35 p.m. at
Osio Road, Tadiangan based on account of Rickson Vidaña Bala-oy, 38, accountant, who filed complaint against their neighbor Earl Frederick Dacanay. Investigation disclosed that Bala-oy’s father-in-law, Roy Cagayanan, saw the suspect punching and kicking the rain guard of the so he confronted the suspect why he was doing it but instead of stopping, the suspect got irked and kicked the victim’s gate repeatedly while  repeatedly shouting saying “Ricky, may araw ka rin. . Papatayin kita” Dacanay went to vehicle again and boxed its back wind shield while shouting.
At that, the suspect’s father came out and pacified the suspect but the latter became more unruly. The suspect climbed the vehicle’s front hood stepping and destroying the license plate holder then stomped on the hood.
The vehicle incurred dents on its left front fender, detached license plate holder, scratched hood, broken driver’s side rain guard and scratched driver’s side door frame.

Drunk Cafgu members hurt in road accident
BANGUED, Abra – A motorcycle driver and his rider, both drunk, were injured here Wednesday around 1:50 a.m. when they lost control of their vehicle along Abra-Kalinga National road in Barangay Patucannay. The motorcycle, without plate number was driven by Edgar Danao Lingbawan, 28 while his rider was named Jaddy Dannang Wacquisan, 27, both members of Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit based in Pitao, Tayum town.
                Investigation bared the  motorcycle was traversing the said road coming from Bangued going to Tayum when the driver lost control of the steering and swerved on side of the road. Both were injured and rushed by responding cops to Abra Provincial Hospital for treatment and confined thereat. The motorcycle was also damaged and taken into custody by Bangued police.

Guns, bullets seized in Flora, Apayao
FLORA, Apayao -- Silverio S. Juan was arrested in his residence here at Purok Guinto, Poblacion East early morning of March 24for keeping firearms and ammunitions without documents. Seized from him were were a Cal. 45 handgun, magazine and 17 bullets for Cal. 45; 18 fired bullets of Cal 45 and one long firearm. 

Man nabbed, 2 escape in illegal gambling raid
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A certain Raul Pataweg Bantiyan, 30, of Atok, Benguet was caught playing card games in a building near Kollebeng refilling station here at Upper Tomay morning of March 24, while his two companions evaded arrest.
Playing cards and P1,200 bet money were confiscated by cops from the suspect.

 Thieves in rice heist still unidentified 
BAGUIO CITY – Police have yet to identify thieves who robbed a store here around 4 a.m. on March 26 and carted away 132 sacks of rice and P10,000 cash.    
A police report said the incident happened at Rommel’s Grain Retailer, Engineers Hill Barangay, store of Rommel Acosta Ulat, 39,  of Scout Barrio.
Investigation disclosed that Rodel Saclayan Santiago and his companion Mark Cabanilla y Penamura, both sales clerks of said establishment conducted inventory before closing the store around 9 p.m. of March 25. On March 26,t around 5:45 a.m., Santiago was about to open the store when he noticed padlock hinges were forcibly removed and items were missing.
Cops found no fingerprints. Footages of CCTV the barangay and one installed at nearby Miguel’s Bar were checked by police who have yet to report on the matter.

Man finds gun along Kennon road

TUBA, Benguet -- A 9mm Armscor pistol loaded with magazine and bullets was turned over here to police here of Camp 1, Kennon Road by a certain Michael Elis Leano. The latter admitted to have discovered said firearm along the road in the area on March 11 around 8 a.m.
