 Bontoc laborer stabbed
BONTOC, Mountain Province – A laborer from Barangay Maligcong here was stabbed Wednesday around 1 a.m. along the road of the Provincial Plaza. Police named the victim as Melchor Winnie Pityer, 24 who was stabbed on different parts of his body by still unidentified suspects.
          Investigation disclosed the victim was on his way home when he met  his attackers who suddenly stabbed him on his right hand, nape and left buttock without apparent reason. The suspects immediately fled to unknown direction while the victim sought help from concerned citizens who brought him to the Bontoc General Hospital, Bontoc where he is now confined.


Motorcycle in bocap’s custody stolen
AGUINALDO, Ifugao -- Barangay chairman Ruben Maanao of  Galonogon reported to police a Honda motorcycle with plate number BD 13142 color white owned by his sister Angelita M. Colbongan, of Batal, Santiago City, Isabela Region 2 was stolen by still unidentified suspect/s.
Investigation disclosed around 8 p.m. Tuesday the vehicle was parked at the residence of the barangay chairman in Sitio Ete-et, Galonogon. Two hours later after heavy rain, he noticed the motorcycle was missing. 

3 hurt as bus hits post in Apayao
CONNER, Apayao – Three passengers were injured a public utility bus lost its brakes and bumped a DPWH sign post hereTuesday around 7 a.m. A police report said the bus bearing plate number BVD 250, registered under the name of Teofila Latupan Genovezaof Tuao, Cagayan and driven by Eric Okab Pamittan, 42, also of Tuao, was loaded with 20 passengers. 
Injured were Charlene Pumbaya Gumabay, 41 of Lenneng, Kabugao, Apayao; Edison Crisostomo Talla, 41, CAFGU member of Lenneng, Kabugao and Melba Miguel Aboran, 62 also of Kabugao.
Police rushed injured passengers to San Juan Medical Clinic in Baricawen Ili, Conner and they were all released after treatment.

Truck hits motorcycle, pick-up; 2 siblings hurt  
BAGUIO CITY -- A Ford Ranger pick-up  driven by Joselito G. Apigo Jr., 29 collided with a motorcycle driven by Rexson Madriaga Haduca, 21 who was riding with his sister Jenyrica, 21, student of Taloy Sur Tuba, Benguet.
A police report said the incident happened Wednesday around 11:19 a.m. along Loakan Major Mane Aguinaldo Road. The pick-up was traversing the road towards city proper when it encroached the opposite lane and collided with the motorcycle. Due to strong impact the motorcycle was thrown to the side walk while the pick-up still moved forward and bumped a Toyota Hi-lux truck with license plate no. NQY-692, driven by Rojohn Sapinoc Pio, 48. All vehicles were damaged while Rexson and Jenyrica were injured and rushed to Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for treatment.

Pickup bumps motorcycle; driver hurt  
LUNA, Apayao – A maroon DMAX pick-up registered to Binsin P. Claveria and driven by Dexter Dam-At Claveria, 26, was bumped by a motorcycle owned and driven by Daniel Jose Madriaga Viernes, 36,  DENR employee.
Police said the incident happened Wednesday around 5:30 p.m. along the national highway in Barangay San Isidro Sur. Investigation disclosed that DMAX was parked along side of the highway with hazard lights on when the motorcycle bumped its rear.  As a result, Viernes suffered cut on his lower chin and abrasions on his right foot and was rushed by concerned citizen to Far North Luzon General Hospital and Training Center in Barangay Quirino.

Gunmen shoot salesman, bring him to hospital
BAGUIO CITY – A sales officer was injured after he was shot here Tuesday around 2:30 a.m. first floor of M.M. GARA Building, Km. 4, Bakakeng Central along Marcos Highway by two still unidentified suspects. Victims was identified as Jay Viray Mojica, 29, married,  f TG Homes, Km.3, Marcos Highway in said barangay.
Police investigation disclosed the victim with his companion and the two suspects were having drinking spree in separate table when a misunderstanding ensued between them that prompted one of the suspects to bring out his handgun and fired it once. The victim attempted to grab the firearm but the latter fired it again that hit his left foot. The suspects immediately brought the victim at Benguet General Hospital and Medical Center for treatment and left using their car. 

2 drug pushers nabbed in Abra
BANGUED, Abra - Two alleged “drug watch-listed” personalities were caught in a raid here recently in Barangay Bangbangar.
Anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Cordillera and Abra policemen caught Arlene Castillo Landa alias "Liberty," 43 and Jeffrey Bisares Nuñez alias "Ekong," 39, a foreman of a local electric cooperative after prohibited drugs and paraphernalia were found at their house.
Seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing shabu valued at P35,000, several drug paraphernalia, an Armscor caliber 45 pistol and a magazine containing five live ammunition were found in the duo’s lair.
PDEA-CAR said cases for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act Number 9165 otherwise known as the "Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002" will be filed against the suspects. They will also face violations of Republic Act 10591 or the "Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act".

Online teacher stabbed by truck helper
BAGUIO CITY – An online teacher was injured when he was stabbed by a truck helper he was drinking with here Tuesday around 11 p.m. at No. 154 Lower Quirino Hill.
Police identified the victim as Paul Deo De Guia Villaroman, 27, married, who was allegedly stabbed by the arrested suspect Randolph Dato Pagaduan, 19. Investigation disclosed both were drinking at the house of the suspect and were teasing each other which resulted into misunderstanding. The victim punched the suspect’s face and the latter retaliated by stabbing the left arm of the victim.
Police arrested the suspect and brought the victim and suspect to Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for treatment.

Farmer stabbed by farmer in Apayao
STA. MARCELA, Apayao – A farmer was stabbed by another farmer here Tuesday around 12 noon at Barangay San Mariano. Police said Mark Anthony Gumarang Arafilez, 25, was allegedly stabbed by Fausto Ruiz Ganotisi 24. 
Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim with Bryan N. Ramos and Manayon Andres were having a drinking session at the store of Marilyn Ramos while the group of the suspect was also having a drinking session in other table at the same store. Accordingly, the victim and Ramos approached the suspect and a heated argument ensued between them prompting the suspect to break an empty bottle of Red Horse and stabbed the victim twice on his breast and right arm and was brought to Sta. Marcela District Hospital by Bryan.
Responding cops arrested the suspect. Weapon used was unrecovered.

Mercury Drug attendant shot by motorcycle rider 
BANGUED, Abra – An attendant of Mercury Drug Store was shot by a still unidentified man who was riding in tandem with the driver of a motorcycle here Tuesday along Taft Street Zone 4. The victim was named as John Balikasmaya Ragunton, 21. 
Cops interviewed the victim at a hospital who said they were aboard a red Honda TMX tricycle without plate number driven by Precious dela Cruz Pineda, 18, single, student after coming from McDonalds, Zone 5 and were on the way to  New Food Court at Zone 4, when  suspects on board a red motorcycle from behind. The backrider wearing a red shirt suddenly shot the victim three times hitting his left hip then the suspects fled towards west direction. Pineda immediately brought the victim to the hospital.
Police found three fired cartridge cases of Cal. 45, among other bullets of different caliber. Motive of the shooting was being ascertained at press time.

Five men tagged for butchering solon’s cow
RIZAL, Kalinga – Five persons were tagged by police as having allegedly butchered here Tuesday a cow owned by Rep. Allen Jesse C. Mangaoang near  Andarayan Dam  inside the pasture land of the congressman at Barangay  Romualdez.
Suspects were named as Benjamin Basiway, 46; Joven Tallongon, Rodolfo Esteban, Leonard Manganip, Bonifacio Dioferio and Junior Bogca, all residents of Andarayan, Santor in the town.

Old man nabbed for rape in Vizcaya
BAGABAG, Nueva Vizcaya – A man was nabbed here Monday for rape here at  Tabban, Pagonsino. Arrested was Florendo Acday, 60, of Bantay, Tabuk City, Kalinga after  Marcelino Wacas, presiding judge of Branch 25, Regional Trial Court, Bulanao, Tabuk City issued arrest warrant against him for rape with no bail. Acdayh was tagged by police as most wanted man in Kalinga.

Farmer cornered for rape in Tabuk
TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Police arrested here Tuesday one Felix Atoc, 55, farmer after warrant was issued against him by Executive Judge Milnar T. Lammawin of Regional Trial Court Branch 25, 2ndJudicial Region, Tabuk City, Kalinga for rape.

Young woman nabbed for illegal recruitment
TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A certain Analete Reyes Dela Cruz, 26, single was arrested here after Bibiano G Colasito of Regional Trial Court of National Capital Region, Branch 50, Manila issued warrant against her for six counts of illegal recruitment with bail set at P16,000 for each case.

Laborer mauls live-in partner over phones
BAGUIO CITY – A young woman filed complaint with police for physical injuries against her live-in partner. A police report said the incident happened at Zodiac Bar along Bokawkan, Road on complaint of the woman whose name was withheld against Nico Fegcan Chulipas, 23, laborer, both residents at Cypress Irisan. 
Investigation disclosed the victim and her friend went to Daddy’s Bar along Bokawkan Road to unwind. The respondent arrived and occupied another table and later they joined together. The suspect left without permission prompted her to text him where he went and that she will follow to get her two mobile phones.
Upon knowing that he went to Zodiac bar, she followed him and confronted him but he got angry and denied the phones were in his possession. A verbal altercation ensued between them. The suspect mauled the victim by strangling her, pinned her on the ground and punched her face and body several times. The suspect was arrested.

Laborer assaults cop on patrol 
HINGYON, Ifugao – A laborer assaulted cop here Tuesday at Culob, Bitu around  5:40 p.m. The victim was named as Marvel Bacawat Mahicon Jr, 29, of Lamut, Ifugao and presently assigned at Hingyon Police Station in Barangay Bitu.
The suspect was identified as Crisver Humiding Tuguinay, 26, of Poblacion, Hingyon.
Investigation revealed the victim with four other police officers were conducting mobile patrol along the municipal road of Bitu during the town fiesta and chanced upon three men including the suspect believed to be under the influence of liquor, shouting and walking shakily along the center of the road.
The victim alighted from the vehicle to ask them to go home for they were drunk but the suspect without apparent reason shouted threatening words and held the victim’s neck. The victim grappled with Tuguinay until his companions arrived and restrained the suspect.
The suspect was jailed at Hingyon Municipal Police Station.

Taxi, motorcycle  collide; auto technician hurt
BAGUIO CITY – An auto technician was injured when his motorcycle collided with a taxi here Tuesday around 2 p.m. along Lower General Luna Road junction of Notre Dame de Chartres entrance. Michael Bas-il Quitlong, 31, of Padcal Philex Mines, Tuba, Benguet was injured when the motorcycle he was driving collided with Isuzu Crosswind Wagon Taxi driven by Rex B. Dangpas, 44, of Central Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Investigation disclosed the motorcycle driven by Quitlong came from Upper General Luna Road and while evading vehicles due to traffic jam and traversing the opposite lane collided with the taxi driven by Dangpas who was then making a  U-turn.
Both vehicles were damaged while Quitlong was injured and brought by Dangpas to Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for treatment. Police confiscated the driver’s license of both drivers involved OR/CR of vehicles.

Laborer hacked for leaving drinking spree
BUGUIAS, Benguet – A farm was hacked by another here Monday around
8:30 p.m. at Pua,Cayapas, Baculongan Sur. The victim was identified as Asher Sacla Onogen, 31, Tublay town who suffered three wounds on his face. The suspect was identified as Marainao Kindipan Dizon of Sablan town. The victim was rushed to Lutheran Hospital, Abatan here by  neighbors while the suspect run away.
Investigation disclosed that victim and suspect had their drinking spree on the garden shanty after their work. The victim asked permission from the suspect if he could go ahead. While on his way, suspect followed him and without any reason, suspect hacked the victim on his face using his small bolo. Buguias are still locating the suspect.

La Trinidad church robbed of donation money
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The San Jose Church was reportedly robbed here dawn May 21 of an undisclosed amount of monetary donations.  The incident was reported by security guard Carlito Genove Romano, 49, of Sto. Niño Barangay, Baguio City. Investigation disclosed suspect/s  entered the storage room and took donation boxes and their contents. The collection money was of unknown value because it was not opened since December 2016.

2 Kiangan farmers nabbed for estafa
KIANGAN, Ifugao – Cops arrested Monday Roe Calindas Lunag, 48 and Erwin Dulnuan Manghi, 29, both farmers of Barangay Baguinge here for estafa. This, after judge Romeo U Habbiling of RTC Branch 14, Lagawe, issued arrested warrants against them setting bail of  P8,000 each.

PUJ driver nabbed for reckless imprudence
LAGAWE, Ifugao – Police nabbed here Monday Victor Dulludul Hangdaan, 49, public utility jeep driver. The accused was arrested at his residence following warrant issued against him by Judge Francisco O. Pilpil of 2nd Judicial Region, MTC, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya for reckless imprudence resulting to physical injuries and damage to property with bail set at P30,000.
The accused was brought to Lagawe police station and later presented to Branch 14, Regional Trial Court, 2nd Judicial Region, Lagawe where he posted bail.

Vegetable dealer arrested for estafa 
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet  -- A certain Carol Ann Lasaten, 32, vegetable dealer of AE 215 Western Buyagan here was arrested Monday after Jennifer P. Humiding, presiding judge of Regional trial Court, Branch 63, First Judicial Region, La Trinidad, ordered her arrest for estafa. The accused posted P52,000 for her temporary liberty.

Tattoo artist’s car hits 4-year-old boy  
BAGUIO CITY --  A 4-year-old boy  was injured when a vehicle driven by a tattoo artist bumped him here May 16 around 6 p.m. here along Block 4 of city public market. near Julie’s Bakeshop. The victim was named as Carlo Valdez Domingo.
Investigation disclosed a Nissan sedan driven by Jose Leoparte Enriquez 33 of No. 63 M. Roxas Street, Trancoville, was going towards Magsaysay Road when the victim who was crossing from the right side was hit by the vehicle. The victim was brought by the driver to Saint Louis and mother of the victim named as Joanne Valdez to University Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment. Responding police confiscated the vehicle’s license plate and OR/CR of the vehicle.

Engineer falls from roof trying to extinguish fire
LAGAWE, Ifugao – An engineer was injured while trying to put out fire that partially raized his house here May 16 around 1 p.m. located along Yakal Street, Poblacion North, Lagawe.
Investigation showed that the fire emanated from the dirty kitchen, reached piled fire wood, got bigger and reached the ceiling. Victim Romeo Cumila Namuhe climbed the roof of the kitchen to suppress the fire but fell from the rooftop. Hwas injured and brought to Natuwolan Clinic by concerned citizens for  treatment.
The fire was extinguished around 20 minutes later by firemen, private water delivery tankers, cops and residents.

Building caretaker found dead in  Baguio  
BAGUIO CITY – A caretaker of a building was found dead here May 16 around 7:14 p.m. at the living room of De Guzman Building, corner Bench Lane, Suello Village, Bakakeng Central. A police report said Vicente Yante Cariño, 31, of Arellano, Dagupan City, Pangasinan was found dead on a bed at the center of the living room.
Responding cops led by Supt. Rodrigo Leal brought Cariño’s body to Damayan Funeral Homes along Km. 5, Marcos Highway, Baguio City for autopsy. 

Two men arrested for shabu in Baguio
BAGUIO CITY – Two men were arrested here last week for alleged drug peddling. Ramil Camacho Vendiola, 36, was nabbed here at Barangay outpost of Padre Zamora while Gerald Latore Yango, 22, was arrested along Lower Rock Quarry. Seized from Vendiola were shabu, P500 buy-bust money and drug paraphernalia while taken from Yango were also shabu; P1,000 buy bust money and Samsung cell phone.

Musician hit, hurt by taxicab
BAGUIO CITY – A musician was injured when he was sideswiped by a taxicab in front of the Baguio Country Sounds nightspot here along Lower Magsaysay Avenue around 5 a.m. May 9. 
The victim was named as Aurelio “Leo” Carino Pacalso, 51 of South Sanitary Camp who was hit by a Mitsubishi Adventure wagon taxi bearing plate number AYT 594 driven by Octavio Dalisan Dalang, 41 of Quirino Hill. Investigation disclosed Pacalso came from BCS and was crossing towards opposite side of the road when he was hit by the taxi descending from Baguio Center Mall. Pacalso was brought by the driver to Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for treatment.
Responding police confiscated Dalang’s driver’s license and OR/CR of the vehicle. 

Two men arrested for shabu in Kalinga

TABUK CITY, Kalinga -- Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested here May 13. Reyfil Chulisan Lapnawan, 25, tricycle driver, was nabbed here at Purok 7, Sitio Sunrise Village, San Juan, while Cosme Lupao Agnaya was nabbed at Lammawin St., Purok 2, Bulanao Norte. Seized from Lapnawan were shabu; P1,350.00 buy-bust money, two cell phones and motorcycle with side car. Seized from Agnaya were shabu; P200 and cell phone.
