Lawyer hurt in Laoag gun attack

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte – Motorcycle riding gunmen who shot and injured a lawyer here Sept. 29 have yet to be identified by police.

Jason Perera, 36, was rushed to the Gov. Roque Ablan Sr. Memorial Hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds in the back.

Perera had just stepped out of his office in Barangay 6 when he was shot at around 6:45 p.m.

The victim does not have a criminal record and is not linked to illegal drugs, according to Chief Supt. Dominic Guerrero, city police director.

Probers recovered two bullet shells for a Cal.45 pistol from the crime scene. 

Police have yet to determine the motive for the attack. – Raymund Catindig
