2 teachers in Apayao road mishap buried

PUDTOL, Apayao -- A couple, both public school teachers, who died when their motorcycle collided with a truck in Barangay Mataguisi here on Nov. 1 were buried last week
    Mark Ventura, 29, and his wife Jaysa 27, were on their way to the Mataguisi Comprehensive National High School when the accident occurred in a curved portion of the highway at around 8 a.m.
    The victims died while being treated in a hospital.
    The truck driver, Reynaldo Maruquin, 39, surrendered.
    Police said the couple had been reporting to school to assess the progress in the distribution of learning modules.
 
 
Boy, 2 falls into  farm canal, dies

URDANETA CITY, Pangasinan – A two-year-old boy was found dead in a farm irrigation canal here in Zone 2, Barangay Dilan Paurido on Nov. 2.
    P/Staff Sergeant Randy Darang said the boy, later identified as Kenneth Rarasy Derije, resident of the area, was playing with a four-year-old girl when he accidentally fell into the canal.
    Immediately, the young girl sought help from local residents, and informed Kenneth’s grandmother Gina Molina Derije what happened.
    Other concerned residents contacted Urdaneta City police who responded quickly and retrieved the child who was already dead.
    It was learned the child suddenly disappeared from his family’s sight, and unexpectedly reached the irrigation ditch where he fell into around 7:30 a.m.
    Kenneth was rushed to the Urdaneta District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
