Abreco sets grace period for unpaid quarantine bills

BANGUED, Abra – The Abra Electric Coop. issued an advisory to its member-consumer-owners that it is allowing grace period for unpaid bills not higher than 30 kilowatts per hour for the month during the community quarantine due to Covid-19, and will not implement disconnection of electric services until Dec. 31, 2020.
In its advisory, Abreco will provide a 30-day grace period on all bills/payments falling due within the period of Enhanced community Quarantine and Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine without incurring interests, penalties, and other charges.
Any unpaid balance after the lapse of the
30-day grace period shall be payable in three equal monthly installments
without incurring interests, penalties, and other charges.
Said policy of no disconnection shall cover
the billing period Sept. 14, until Dec. 21, 2020.
Government offices, government
owned-and-controlled corporations, and other government instrumentalities are
not covered by this advisory.
This is in compliance with the directive of
Energy Regulatory Commission dated Oct. 29, 2020 in line with Republic Act No.
11494 or the “Bayanihan to Recover As One Act” (Bayanihan 2).
Meanwhile, Acting General Manager Engr.
Victor L. Baula encourages member consumers who have the ability to pay
to settle their bills within the original due date to help manage the cash flow
in the energy supply chain and ensure continuous supply of electricity in the
