2 held for illegal drugs in Baguio

BAGUIO CITY – Two men were nabbed here last week for illegal drugs.
    A man listed by regional police headquarters in Camp Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet was arrested here at Lower Magsaysay Avenue, Happy Homes on Sept. 6.
    Regional police director Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee identified the suspect as Troy John Cabatu De luna, 21, of La Trinidad, Benguet.
    De luna and an undercover operative reportedly agreed to meet at said place, where the suspect sold a sachet of suspected shabu weighing 2.5 grams valued at P17,000.
    Also confiscated from the suspect were an additional seven grams of shabu worth P36,600 and marijuana leaves worth P100.
    Confiscated items were inventoried and witnessed by barangay dagawad Eduardo Paris Ora, prosecutor Immanuel Jonathan     Vergara and media representative Janice Limpayos Denis of Bombo Radyo. 
    The suspect and confiscated items were brought to city police station.
    In another buy-bust operation John Carlo Caridad, 27 native of Binmaley, Pangasinan was arrested here at Kayang Street on Sept. 5.
    Caridad was arrested after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth P3,400to a cop.
    Seized from his possession was another sachet of suspected shabu valued at P3,400, buy-bust money and cell phone.
    Inventory of evidence of seized items was done in the presence of prosecutor Sigrid Lacwasan-Canawil, punong barangay         Rene Biagtan of Barangay Kayang and media representative Charles Nikko F Limon.
Charges for illegal drugs were prepared against the suspect.

Tuba farmer threatens folks with gun; nabbed

TUBA, Benguet – A farmer was arrested here by Baguio and Tuba police at Topinao, Pobblacion Sept. 5 for illegal firearms and ammunition.
    This, after authorities implemented search warrant issued by Mervin Jovito S Samadan, acting executive judge of regional trial court, branch 40, Dagupan City which resulted in the arrest of Alberto Galwan Lamsie, 71.
    Confiscated from Lamsie’s residence were a Cal. 22 rifle; 10 bullets for Cal. 22, wire fuse, two blasting caps and; three Emulsion explosives. A regional police report said the suspect threatened his neighbors and fired his gun illegal gun last August at his residence.
    This prompted agents of the Criminal Investigation Detection Group of  Baguio to conduct surveillance and apply for search warrant.
    The seized items and suspect was brought to CIDG Baguio where charges for violation of Comprehensive Law on firearms and ammunitions Regulation Act (Republic Act 10591) was prepared against him.

 
P60-K marijuana seized 
from 2 men in  Cauayan

CAUAYAN CITY––Two men were arrested after yielding P60,000 worth of dried marijuana during a buy-bust operation here Sept. 8, authorities said.
    Louella Tomas, information officer of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cagayan Valley, identified the suspects as Richmond Macaspac, 21, and Shayne Talosig, 20.
    Seized from the suspects were 500 grams of dried marijuana leaves placed in a belt bag.
    Also confiscated from the duo were mobile phones and a bullet for a caliber 9mm pistol.
    A violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) and illegal possession of firearms (RA 10591) were filed against the suspects.
