CAMP FLORENDO, La Union — An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) and a farmer were killed following a brawl in Nagbukel, Ilocos Sur night of Nov. 26.
Eduardo Cacpal, 52, a returning OFW from the US and Arthur Baguang Jr., a farmer, died from stab and gunshot wounds, respectively.
Cacpal was declared dead on arrival at the Ilocos Sur District Hospital.
Baguang died at the scene of the incident.
Reports said Cacpal and Baguang were among a group of men having a drinking spree at a wake in Barangay Bandril.
A quarrel
broke out among the group, which resulted in Baguang allegedly stabbing Cacpal
in the abdomen.
Although
wounded, Cacpal reportedly picked up a piece of wood and hit Baguang, who
managed to flee.
As Baguang
fled, one of the men reportedly pulled out a gun and shot him.
Police have
