BONTOC, Mountain Province – The local government has a new ambulance rescue vehicle recently procured.
Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management officer Johanna Padaen.
Padaen said the ambulance, equipped with basic equipment for rescue operations
was procured under the 5% Calamity Fund of the Bontoc local government.
Prior to the purchase of the ambulance, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) had two pick-ups used by the Operations Center.
The procurement of an ambulance rescue vehicle was part of the municipality’s disaster and emergency response and preparedness capability upgrade.
Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., said he hoped no untoward incident will occur in the municipality, but should this happens, the public is assured of immediate response from the local government.
“The new ambulance rescue vehicle will considerably aid our responders in their rescue operations and will assure the safety and comfort of our patients”, the mayor said.
The blessing of the ambulance rescue vehicle was officiated last week by the Very Reverend Lucrecia Turtem of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Philippines (EDNP) and attended by Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
