VIGAN CITY -- A manager of a Japanese contracting firm doing several bridge projects in Ilocos Sur province is now fighting for his life at the hospital after he was repeatedly stabbed Friday night in Vigan City.
Kouya Takaisi, 46, of the Toyo Construction, was walking home to his temporary residence in Barangay San Julian in Vigan after winding up from a bar when two scooter-riding men stabbed him several times.
The victim sustained stab wounds on his forehead, right arm and right chest.
Police said the suspects tailed him when he emerged from the bar where he unwinded and stabbed him along the road where there was no one who could help.
Police said the suspects fled with the Japanese’s bag containing cash, valuable personal things and his license.
Police are still tracking down the suspects whose motive in attacking Takaisi are still unknown.
