15 Pangasinan towns in Comelec watch list

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — Chief Supt. Constante D. Azares Jr, Ilocos Region police director, reported 15 towns and cities here are in the Commission on Elections watch list.

Provincial Comelec Officer Reddy Balarbar and Senior Supt. Percival Barba, provincial police director, identified the hot spot towns as Basista, Binalonan, Malasiqui, Natividad, Rosales, Pozorrubio, San Carlos City, San Manuel, Dagupan City, Alaminos City, San Nicolas, San Quintin, Bolinao, San Nicolas, and Tayug.

San Carlos City, San Manuel, Tayug, Alaminos City, Sanf Nicolas, San Quintin and Bolinao are reported to have intense political rivalry during the 2007 elections.

Right now, the prevailing political situation in Pangasinan is generally peaceful and still manageable level despite the shooting of an election officer in Sta. Maria.
