G-SPOT
Grace Bandoy

If you people haven’t seen the movie “The Hangover” yet, you are missing one of the wackiest movie ever shown in history! It is 2009’s funniest movie according to the recent Golden Globe awards for films. And it really is crazy! It’ll drive you rollin’ and laughin’ in tears I swear.

On a more serious note, the unification of nations and citizens around the world to help the earthquake-stricken country of Haiti is just amazing and it goes to show that the world can really live as one through thick and thin if we really wanted it to. We all can live harmoniously, hand in hand transcending all the walls and colors and all the fu*#ing whatevers that divide us.

Kaya naman palang magkaisa ng mundo?! Why the hell can’t we just stay united forever.nAnd back here in our beloved Pilipinas, some (what appears to be) ‘unity’ or ‘cooperation’ from the country’s lefts and rights also seem to be sprouting out like budding roses from here and there.

Leaders of past “anti-government groups” running for political seats, some alleged “radicals” supporting government projects and the like appear to be the trend. And it has significantly been for the past recent years already.

Activist groups like the Gabriela and Bayan Muna now have key congressional seats and are given millions of pork barrel budgets at that. And they are there working and sometimes un-working together with government people. This sort of “unity” was unimaginable just a decade ago. The lefts and rights living together under one roof that is politics.

Well, it’s good - we should be elated that somehow, there is some harmony. And that they’re all working their butts off for the good of the Filipino people. What the hell, bring it on! Right?

But frankly, I’m not the happiest person on earth just yet. My fingers are crossed. There’s some tinge of fear inside of me somewhere… f*#k hell!! It’s actually scaring the sh*t out of me! The sudden change of heart is frightening for me. This alleged transformation of some sort (at least to common people like me) seem to have happened overnight and it’s alarming. I think their being in politics is the farthest thing from any compromises of whatsoever.

Shouldn’t we have at least a tiny bit of worry here? What’s making these (ex) militant people run for office posts in the government - - is it the pork barrel? The title? The government salary? That suddenly gave them a change of hearts and they decided to become part of our government, supportive or not?

Grabbing a political seat in our government through a democratic election is of course legal and is not discriminatory and anyone desiring to serve the Filipino people is welcome and has every right to place him or herself as candidate to these seats.

But then again, this is all just me. I could be the wrongest person on earth for all we know. It’s just the thought of “leftism” slowly creeping into our political system. I just can’t help thinking that whatever’s going on could be the start of something big and bad.

And it could just turn our lives around, and we will be needing a little more than just prayers when the unthinkable happens. But then again for the nth time, it could just be the silly me talking.

Whatever, whoever becomes triumphant after the elections in May, as long as they all do their best to put Pilipinas back into the world map as a strong country, is okay with me. And it should be okay for all of us.

You all should also see the movie ‘The Blind Side.” I cried like hell watching it. I just hope we all won’t cry like hell when a left swing comes knocking us down from our blind Sides. Peace!
