Student drowns in La Union resort

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union -- A17 year old student died from drowning in a resort here early Sunday morning.

It was Saturday afternoon when victim Ralph Flores and his friends went to Pagudpud Resort to for a picnic and enjoy the beach, police said.

The group reportedly drank the whole night at the side beach and all went back to their cottage drunk without noticing Flores was left at the area.

It was later that they noticed Flores was not with them that they started a search.

They asked the resort owner for help when they could not find their friend.

They all searched the while night and it was only at 6 a.m. when they noticed the dead body of Flores floating at sea.

The victim was assumed have been taken by the wave while sleeping intoxicated with alcohol at the shore that caused him to drown.

The victim was brought home to his residence in Gusing Naguillian La Union. -- Dennis R. Khan
