Marijuana bricks confiscated, MJ plantation plants destroyed

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Police confiscated eight marijuana
bricks worth P200,000 and destroyed a plantation planted with the illegal hemp
in the province last week.
A police report said a passenger jeep bound to Tabuk, owned
and driven by a certain Daniel Ramires, 38 of PoblacionTinglayan, Kalinga was
flagged down Purok 5, Bulanao,
Tabuk by operatives of the 3rd Maneuver
Company-Regional Public Safety Battalion and other police personnel led by
led by Insp. Joseph Paulo Bayongasan . The
report said police found carton labeled “downy” under the passenger seat
containing eight pieces of dried marijuana bricks weighing eight kilos
valued at P200,000 and wrapped in a newspaper.
In a separate incident, elements of the 3rd Maneuver
Company-Regional Public Safety Battalion based at Talaca, Agbannawag, Tabuk led
by Senior Insp. John Bangcawayan Cayat Jr., while conducting patrol at
SitioPacac, Agbannawag in Tabuk on August 22, spotted a marijuana plantation
with around 1,200 fully-grown marijuana plants and seedlings valued at
P240,000.
The illegal plants were uprooted and destroyed on site
while samples were brought to the Kalinga provincial police office.
No cultivator was arrested during the operation.
