LA TRINIDAD, Benguet --
The Municipal Health Services Office held house-to-house vaccination the past
two weeks for children not given regular vaccines during the imposition of the Enhanced
Community Quarantine.
MHSO
Officer-in-Charge Dr. Genevieve Degay said children who were not administered
with the regular vaccines in the last two weeks of March until April are the
target for the house-to-house vaccination dubbed “Catch up Bakuna.”
This is to
ensure that children get their regular vaccines to keep them
healthy and protected from any outbreak of vaccine-preventable
diseases that may result due to non-administration of
such.
Since all the
MHSO staff have been exposed to suspected or probable COVID-19 contract tracing
of cases, Degay said they hired nurses and midwives to go around barangays to
implement the “Catch up Bakuna” for two weeks.
Among
the vaccines which were skipped during the ECQ were Oral Polio Vaccines (OPV),
Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV), Pentavalent Vaccine (Penta) and Measles,
Mumps Rubella (MMR) vaccine.
Parents
and guardians of children without any record and due for vaccination
are encouraged to provide child's name, address and contact number for easy
location. (JDP/SCA-PIA CAR, Benguet)
