   22 wanted persons  nabbed in Cordi


CAMP; DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Cops arrested 22 wanted persons from May 23 to 29 in Cordillera.
    Based on the reports given to Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee last week, Abra police has the most number of arrests with eight followed by Baguio,7; Benguet,  3 and Apayao and Ifugao with 2 arrests each.
    In Bangued, Abra, Rustom Jay Bersamina Andres was nabbed after Corpus B. Alzate, presiding judge of RTC Branch 2, Bangued, Abra issued warrant against him for grave threats.
    Bail for his temporary liberty was set at P100,000.
    In Baguio City, Pacdal and Tagudin, Ilocos Sur police arrested Crisanto Quitelen Lanuza for rape.
    This, after judge Maria Ligaya V. Itliong-Rivera of RTC Branch 5, Baguio City issued warrant against him setting bail of P200,000 for his temporary liberty.
    This, as a farmer of Hungduan, Ifugao was arrested by Benguet police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Cordillera agents here at Abatan, Buguias  afternoon of May 31.
    The suspect was identified as Eroll Baniaga Dinamling, 27, at present residing in Sitio Bito, Pilando, Bakun, Benguet.
    Dinamling was arrested after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu weighing 0.15-gram worth P1,020 to a lawman.
    Seized from the suspect were another sachet of suspected shabu weighing 0.45-gram worth of P3,060, cellphone and buy-bust money.
    Inventory of the seized items was witnessed by barangay kagawad of Abatan Edwin C. Eban and media representative, Joemar Sacpa.
    Dinamling was subjected to medical and drug test.
    All seized items were brought to Buguias police station.
    A case for illegal drugs was prepared against him.

Man held for P1-M marijuana in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY-- Nine packs of marijuana were confiscated in anti-illegal drug operations of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and police in Lasam town, Cagayan.
    Town police identified the suspected drug pusher as Romel Maguddayao, 36, a resident of Lasam.
    Tagged as a high-value target, Maguddayao was arrested in Centro 1 village in the town after an agent acted as a poseur buyer of marijuana leaves.
    The arrest of Maguddayao yielded nine blocks wrapped in packing tape containing dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops and stalks of approximately 8,500 grams. Police said the marijuana packs had a street value of more than P1.020 million. The suspect was charged with violation of section 5 and section 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

 

5 nabbed in Bengued for illegal gambling

BANGUED, Abra -- Five individuals were caught "tong-its," an illegal card game here in Linasin Zone 1 on May 27.
A police report said joint operatives of the Criminal Investigation Detection Group and police raided the area after a concerned citizen reported ongoing gambling activity in the place.
    The operation resulted in the arrest of operator Nora Balderas Baniago, 49 and four bettors Marilou Sison Martinez, 41; Rogie Sales Queza, 46; Efren Albarade Tejero, 52; and Reynaldo Cristobal Batallones, 41.
    Operatives seized from them bet money and two decks of playing cards.
    Arrested suspects were brought to CIDG Abra for documentation before being turned over to Bangued police station where charges for illegal drugs were prepared against them.
 

2 held in Tuba for illegal logging

TUBA, Benguet -- Two individuals were nabbed for illegal logging here at Sitio Torre, Camp 3 on May 29.
    Basing on reports from Tuba Municipal Police Station, the arrested suspects were identified as Nardo Palina Cortez, 47, farmer and Edwin Polig Siteg, 42, laborer, both residents of Sitio Torre.
    Police were conducting anti-illegal logging operation in the area, when they saw the suspects cutting a pine tree with a chainsaw.
    Cops arrested the suspects and confiscated from them the chainsaw they were using along with assorted lumber.
    Suspects Cortez and Siteg are facing charges for violation of presidential decree 705 known as the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines and for violation of RA 9175 or the Chain Saw Act of 2002.
The suspects and confiscated items were brought to Tuba police station.

Baguio bizman caught with MJ in parked car

BAGUIO CITY -- A businessman was caught in possession of marijuana at the Botanical Garden parking lot here along Leonard Wood Road on May 29.
    City police director Col. Allen Rae F. Co identified the suspect as Ruthgar Julizno Guinto Estepat, 29, of Rimando Road. Aurora Hill. 
    Cops on early patrol saw transparent pipe containing suspected marijuana along with two bottles of beer inside his parked car. 
    The seized items were brought to the Regional Crime Laboratory for checking after inventory at the site witnessed by prosecutor Oliver Prudencio, media representative Cristopher Bartolo and barangay kagawad David Dawa. 
    Estepat was brought to Pacdal Police Station where charges for illegal drugs were prepared against him. 

 

P13.4 marijuana burned in Kalinga

TINGLAYAN, Kalinga -- - Four marijuana plantations were raided in the mountains of Barangay Loccong here which led to the eradication of P13. 4 million worth of the illegal plants on May 28.
    Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee bared this saying the anti-illegal drug operation stemmed from intelligence reports about prohibited plants in the area. 
    Elements from Regional Intelligence Division, RMFB15 and Kalinga police uprooted and burned an estimated 67,320 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants worth P13,464,000 at the plantations. 

11 killed in Bulacan, Ecija drug operations

CAABANATUAN CITY — Eleven suspects were killed in anti-drug operations in Bulacan and Nueva Ecija on May 25.
    Col. Lawrence Cajipe, Bulacan police director, identified four of the seven killed in drug stings in the province as Ferdinand Urian, Percival Paguia, Jayson Hernandez and Mandy de Silva.
    Cajipe said the slain suspects drew their guns when they sensed they sold shabu to undercover agents in Pulilan, Pandi Obando, Bustos and Balagtas towns.
    He said a 9mm pistol, four caliber .38 revolvers, a .357-caliber revolver, a gun of unknown caliber, 127 sachets of shabu, two motorcycles, drug paraphernalia and marked money were recovered from the fatalities.
    Col. Jaime Santos, Nueva Ecija police director, said Reyelito Ramos, Francis Liwanag, Jonathan Miranda and Ruben Galvez shot it out with anti-narcotics agents in Barangays Bantug Hacienda and La Torre in Talavera, Barrera in Cabanatuan City and San Antonio Este in Lupao.
    Santos said three caliber. 38 revolvers, a caliber .45 pistol, sachets of shabu, two tricycles and a motorcycle were recovered from the fatalities.

8 nabbed in Benguet for illegal  gambling

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad Benguet- Eight individuals were arrested and now facing charges for violating Presidential Decree 1602 (illegal gambling) in separate anti-illegal gambling operations led by Benguet cops on May 30 to 31.
    Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee identified the suspects as Johnkere Binbinon Bughong, 37; Philip De La Cruz Ambeguia, 49; Norton Bato Tomas, 34; Odee Tauli Dangbis, 28; Edmund Abag Morca, 48; Clifford Tomas Bato, 33; Belmer Malipat Adais, 31; and Dennis Almoza Cornel, 32.
    He said on May 30, cops on patrol along National Housing Authority at Tadiangan, Tuba chanced upon three individuals engaging in cockfighting that resulted in the arrest of Bughong and Ambeguia while the other suspect immediately fled the scene.
    Confiscated items were bet money and two roosters used in cockfighting.
    Meanwhile, on May 31, Itogon police responded to a report sent by a concerned citizen through text message about illegal gambling at Purok 2, Barangay Loakan, Itogon Benguet that resulted to the arrest of six individuals.
    Confiscated from the suspects were a deck of poker cards and bet money.
    All arrested suspects along with the confiscated items were brought to police stations.
    On May 30, Itogon police also destroyed an improvised cockpit ring in a communal land in Sitio Luneta Barangay Loakan.
    Dismantled materials from the cockpit ring were burned at the site.
