6th Kataguan caravan raises P1.4-M for dialysis patients in Mt Province

Mountain Province — The 6th Kataguan Run, Bike and Caravan Drive for Life
rolled off successfully recently raising P1.4 million for dialysis patients in
the province.
From the Eyeb grounds in this capital town, 204 individuals 40 participants using bikes, 69 motorbikes and 94 in cars joined the caravan taking the Poblacion- Balili, Bontoc-Suyo-Taccong, Sagada-Sabangan to Kalimbatawa, Otucan Sur in Bauko route.
The caravan, a project of Maximo B. Dalog Foundation Inc. with Kataguan Dialysis Patients Organization Inc. in partnership with Tawid Mountain Province, Bontoc Multi Sports Group, CMV Outdoor, Tawid Mountain Marathon, Amihan, 8a Performance, and Philippine Red Cross Mountain Province Chapter, raised P1, 400,000.
The amount raised was immediately turned over to the KDPOI, the beneficiary.
The beneficiary organization is composed of kidney patients from Mountain Province who are having their hemodialysis in dialysis centers in the country.
The group has 133 members at present.
Reo. Maximo Y. Dalog Jr. expressed gratitude to participants of the 6th season of the caravan for helping generate funds to assist beneficiaries in their lifetime treatment.
Lawyer Cyphrine Maxcel Y. Dalog, MBDFI treasurer and chief of staff of Office of the Congressman, said the activity does not only promote value of “og-ogfo” or “bayanihan” but a display of love and support to dialysis patients amid the Covid pandemic.
An initiative of the late Rep. Maximo Dalog Sr., the Kataguan Drive for Life was fist staged in 2015 in partnership with Kataguan Dialysis Patients Organization.
It has become an annual activity even after his death.
It was only shelved last year due to the COVID pandemic. – PIA Mountain Province
