PROCor bares 3- month crime, clean, green drive result

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – The Police Regional Office bared anti-crime accomplishments since Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee took over the regional police command in April 5 to date.
    A report by the Police Regional Information Office said upon assumption to office, Lee vowed to intensify campaign against criminality, illegal drugs, wanted persons, illegal gambling, loose firearms among others.
    In campaign against illegal drugs, a total of P450,116,369 worth of shabu, marijuana plants and seedlings were seized and destroyed in 168 anti-illegal drug operations  
    This resulted in arrest of 151 drug personalities that included 76 high value individuals, 40 “street level” and 35 “non-listed” individuals now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
    A total of 85 anti-illegal gambling operations were conducted that resulted to arrest of 298 individuals and seizure of P555,054 gambling money.
    With increased police presence and service of search warrants, 333 loose firearms were confiscated, recovered or surrendered from 289 police operations.
    Twenty-four criminal cases for violation of Republic Act10591 known as Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act were filed in court against the suspects.
    Manhunt operations against wanted personalities resulted in the arrest of 457 individuals, of which 85 were listed as most wanted persons with 327 are listed as  wanted persons.
    Under Lee, the PROCor also conducted 677 clean-up drives, 600 tree planting events and 155 anti-illegal logging operations in the Cordillera.
    For the clean-up drive activities, Abra provincial police office  lead with 246, followed by Kalinga with 88; Benguet, 73; Baguio City, 72; Apayao Ifugao both with 61; Mountain Province,  55, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 with 21.
    For tree planting activities, again, Abra PPO led with 386, followed by Baguio, 56; Apayao, 55; Ifugao, 34; Mountain Province, 29; Kalinga. 14, and RMFB15 with 11.
    For anti-illegal logging, 155 operations were conducted by Cordillera police resulting in the confiscation of 24,475.89 board feet of illegally sawn assorted lumbers amounting to P972, 203.31.
    A total of 11 chainsaws and two vehicles used in transporting illegal logs were seized while 20 individuals caught transporting and cutting trees were arrested by police and charged with violation of Presidential Decree 705, also known as the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines.
