7 druggies arrested; P200-K shabu seized

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet -- Five persons were arrested while around P200,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized by cops in buy-bust operations in Baguio City, Abra and Benguet early last week.
    Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee identified suspects nabbed Nov 8 and 9 as Michael Fulgenio Cerezo, 43; Jay Kiwas Alamar, 27; Romel Fontanilla Mabalot, 39; Marjorie Lutis Ticuan, 28 and Marc Therenz Santamaria Antonio, 36.
In AZKCO Barangay, Baguio City, Cerezo was arrested by joint operatives of drugs unit and Abanao Police Station after he sold a gram of shabu worth P6,800 a cop who acted as buyer.
    In Melvin Jones grounds, cops nabbed Alamar after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu weighing five grams worth P34,000 to a buyer.
    Authorities also confiscated another sachet of suspected shabu weighing 0.5 worth P3,400.
In Barangay Bakakeng, Baguio City, authorities arrested Mabalot and Ticuan after they sold toa cop four sachets of suspected shabu weighing of 20 grams and worth P136,000.
    An additional one gram of shabu worth P6,800 was seized from Ticuan.
    In Barangay P. Burgos, cops nabbed Teddy Bruno Capino, 49, on Nov. 10 after he sold shabu worth P3,400 to an operative who acted as buyer.
    In Barangay Zone 1, Bangued, Abra, authorities arrested Antonio after he sold shabu worth P1,292 to cop who acted as buyer.
    An additional P2,312 worth of shabu was seized from his possession.
    Cases for illegal drugs were filed against the suspects.

In Bahong, La Trinidad, Benguet, Jerry Dela Cruz Lista, 44 was arrested after he sold 0.15 grams of shabu worth P1,020 top a cop.

Cops burn P740-K MJ in Kibungan

KIBUNGAN, Benguet – Police discovered, uprooted and burned P740,000 worth of marijuana plants at a mountain here recently. 

Col. Reynaldo Pawisen, Benguet police director said six marijuana plantation sites were raided by the team. Four of the sites were located in Sitio Bacbacan, Barangay Poblacion and two in Sitio Aos, Barangay Tacadang.

In Sitio Bacbacan, police operatives destroyed 300 marijuana seedlings worth P12,000.

From the other three sites in the area, operatives discovered 2,840 fully-grown marijuana plants with an SDP of P 568,000 cultivated in a land area of 780 square meters.

In Sitio Aos, 4,000 marijuana seedlings worth P160,000, planted in a land area of around 800 square meters were seized.

All uprooted marijuana plants and marijuana seedlings were burned on site, Pawisen said.
