BONTOC, Mountain
Province – The Bontoc local government and town folks urged internet providers
to improve internet connectivity and services saying they were affected by bad
service. The
Sangguniang Bayan passed a resolution sponsored by Councilor Jerome Tudlong
requesting all internet service providers in the municipality to improve and
upgrade their internet services.
Specified in the resolution was submission of copies to concerned internet providers for them to upgrade their systems because of slow internet speed, unstable network signal especially now that face-to-face transactions were discouraged due to the pandemic and slow response to calls for technical assistance.

Bontoc Mayor
Franklin Odsey supported the appeal of the consumers saying “restrictions
brought about by the pandemic required us to turn to online services, thus
imposing the need for a faster and more reliable internet connection. An
improved internet connection is not only for the students who utilize the
internet for blended learning and research but also the employees with work
from home arrangements.”
The mayor
urged network providers to upgrade their infrastructure and build additional
towers in barangays where there is no network signal.
