Bontoc organization to receive ₱1.1M- project

BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Chinakhop Farmers and Irrigators Organization, based here in Barangay Tocucan is set to receive a ₱1.1 million worth of agricultural assistance funded from the Office of the Presidential Advisor on the Peace Process (OPAPP) through the Dept. of Agriculture - Cordillera Administrative Region (DA-CAR).
    This was announced by Administrative Officer IV Ross Kiat-ong of the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMAg) who is also the Sustainable and Inclusive Peace and Transformation (SIPAT) point person of the Bontoc local government.
    The assistance is under the OPAPP and DA’s SIPAT project which aims to invest in human capital through livelihood opportunities and community-based projects in conflict-affected or vulnerable communities.
    The agriculture-based products to be turned over include the following: Dekalb chickens, layer feeds, grower feeds, breeder feeds, lactating feeds, and nets.
    Kiat-ong added that the Bontoc LGU has allotted ₱80,000 as its counterpart.
    The said fund will be used for development trainings to include organizational management with values formation and culture change, animal health management and brown egg production.
    The organization will shoulder cost of poultry housing/chicken coops.
