Three men nabbed for guns in Baguio, Tabuk

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Police arrested three persons for possession of unlicensed firearms in Kalinga and Baguio City on Feb. 13.
    Reports submitted to Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Mafelino A. Bazar identified suspects as Mac Aldrich Wansi, 19; Gerald Washington, 23 and Raymundo Bang-ot, 42.    
    In Kalinga, Wansi and Washington were arrested after by Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) operatives of Tabuk City Police Station. Tabuk police said the victims of those arrested, both minors were on their way home when suddenly the suspects on board a motorcycle followed and pointed a gun at them.
    To avoid the suspects, the victims went straight to police community precinct in Purok 5, Bulanao, where they reported the incident. Immediately, police followed and found the suspects at a gas station in Barangay San Juan, Tabuk City.
    The suspects were arrested after they failed to provide documents for a Cal. 38 handgun loaded with 12 bullets they had in their possession. Meanwhile, in Baguio City, Bang-ot was arrested by Marcos Highway Police Station 10 cops when he failed to provide documents for a Cal. 22 revolver loaded with seven bullets found inside his car.
    The arrested suspects and confiscated items were brought to the custody of their respective police units where charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act were filed against them.
