Bontoc posts four vehicle crashes, drowning, suicide

BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Bontoc Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council here urged motorists and drivers of road safety following accidents.
On Feb. 3, 2023, Henrietta Claire Lingbanan of the MDRRM Office reported from Jan. 13, to Feb. 3, Bontoc recorded four vehicular traffic accidents, one drowning, one fall, and one suicide.
Following this, Bontoc mayor and MDRRMC chairperson Jerome “ Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., urged drivers and motorists to follow traffic rules to prevent or lessen accidents.
With regard to vehicle crashes in Bontoc, Tudlong urged assistance of everyone in information dissemination of BLOWBAGETS.
The PNP came up with the “BLOWBAGETS” which is an acronym for a driver’s checklist and stands for battery, lights, oil, water, brake, air, gas, engine, tire, and self.
Meanwhile, with the five-day mid-year-Break of students on Feb. 6-10, the MDRRMC urged parents and guardians to be vigilant on whereabouts of their children to avoid and prevent untoward incidents.
