Mother robbed, killed by minors; found dead holding sleeping baby

BAGUIO CITY – A 39-year-old mother, a vendor was allegedly
robbed and killed by two minors in her house here in Barangay San Luis Village
on Tuesday, July 11.
The victim was identified as Floradel de Mesa, who sustained multiple stab wounds in the body and was found still holding her sleeping baby.
De Mesa was believed to have fought her assailants.
The victim's P100,000 cash and cellphone were missing.
The money was supposed to be used for the surgery of her husband who is confined in the hospital.
Her three-year-old son was with her when the incident occurred and was unharmed.
Jonar, Floradel’s husband, told police he last spoke to her at 9 p.m. on Monday, July 10, on the phone.
He said he was expecting her to bring milk to the hospital at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
Jonar said that his wife failed to come and did not call the next day.
He had a strange feeling so he told his other son to go home and look for his mother.
He arrived before dawn on Tuesday and called her mother to open the door but he received no response.
He forcibly opened the door and saw his mother bloodied and lifeless in her room and holding her 3-year-old brother who was sleeping.
The Baguio City Police Office are now on the lookout for the suspects.
Police have suspects under surveillance but their identities were disclosed as they are minors.
Suspects face a case of robbery with homicide.
