Bontoc bocap bet nabbed for shabu, gun, ammunition

BONTOC, Mountain Province -- Police and anti-narcotics agents nabbed a candidate for punong barangay (village chief) after P400,000 worth of shabu and other drug paraphernalia were found and seized in his residence at Barangay Alab here recently.
Col. Sibly Dawigey, provincial police director named the suspect as Alex Pilingan Baltero.
The suspect was arrested when search warrant was implemented by lawmen in his residence, which resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs valued at P390,626.
Also seized from Baltero's residence were assorted drug paraphernalia and a Cal. 9mm pistol with several bullets.
Baltero and seized items were brought to the Bontoc Municipal Police Station for documentation and safekeeping.
Charges for violation of pertinent provisions of Republic Act 9165 or the "Comprehensives Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002" and RA 10591 or the "New Firearms Regulations Act," were prepared by police against Baltero.
