TABUK CITY,
Kalinga -– The city government has released P300,000 to the third batch of
beneficiaries under its Livelihood Support Fund for this year.
Mayor
Ferdinand B. Tubban awarded the checks to officers of eight accredited
barangay-based women organizations of Tabuk today during the regular flag
raising ceremony at the city hall.
Recipients
of the third batch include Rural Improvement Clubs (RIC) of Sitio Soto, Hilltop
and Agbannawag Centro of Barangay Agbannawag; SitioMatucnang, Maledda and
Sunflower of Barangay Ipil; SitioLacnog of Barangay Lacnog and
SitioEleb-Nambaran of Barangay Nambaran.
Tubban said
the aid is intended to make marginalized women become productive by providing
them start-up capital to open small income-generating projects in their
communities.
As requirement,
beneficiaries must have to be organized groups operating in the barangays of
Tabuk duly accredited by the City Livelihood Support Fund Program Committee.
This year,
the city government released the same aid in February and July to the first and
second batches of beneficiaries, respectively.
Another
twelve applicant-groups are being processed by the livelihood committee to be
the last recipients of the program in 2012.
